Who we are

Jeriathan is a macOS application made by Reid Olson Media ("we," "us," "our"). This policy explains what Jeriathan does with your footage, your connected accounts, and the services it uses. It applies to the Jeriathan app. The Reid Olson Media marketing website has its own Reid Olson Media website privacy policy. Questions go to [email protected].

The short version

  • Jeriathan runs on your own Mac. Your footage stays on your drives.
  • It sends transcripts, script text, and still frames to AI services to make editing decisions. It does not send them to us.
  • It connects to your YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok accounts only when you sign in, only through the official APIs, and only to do what you ask.
  • Sign-in tokens live in the macOS Keychain on your computer. We never receive them.
  • We do not sell your data, and we do not use it to train AI models.
  • You can disconnect any account at any time, from inside the app or from the platform's own permissions page.

What Jeriathan processes

  • Your media and scripts. Video, audio, scripts, transcripts, and still frames from the projects you open. These are read from and written to folders on your computer and drives.
  • Account connections. When you sign in to a platform, Jeriathan receives an access token for that platform. Tokens are stored in the macOS Keychain on your Mac, protected by your login. Reid Olson Media does not receive, store, or have access to them.
  • Platform data about your own accounts. Your channel's video list and metadata, your videos' analytics, your Page and Instagram posts, and your ad campaigns and their results. This data is fetched on your instruction and kept on your Mac.
  • Diagnostics. Jeriathan writes log files on your Mac so problems can be diagnosed. It does not send usage analytics or telemetry to Reid Olson Media.

Jeriathan does not currently require an account with Reid Olson Media, and we do not operate a server that receives your project data. If that changes, we will update this policy before it takes effect.

Google user data and YouTube

Jeriathan uses YouTube API Services. When you sign in with Google, you are also agreeing to the Google Privacy Policy. Jeriathan asks for these permissions and uses them for these purposes only:

  • Upload YouTube videos (youtube.upload): to upload the videos you export from Jeriathan to your channel, with the title, description, and privacy setting you choose.
  • Manage your YouTube account (youtube.force-ssl) and View your YouTube account (youtube.readonly): to read your channel's video list and metadata so Jeriathan can confirm uploads, set thumbnails and metadata on videos it uploaded, and match published videos back to your projects.
  • View YouTube Analytics reports (yt-analytics.readonly) and View monetary YouTube Analytics reports (yt-analytics-monetary.readonly): to read views, watch time, audience retention, and estimated revenue for your own videos, so Jeriathan can show you which edits perform and use that to improve the edits it makes for you.
  • Manage your Google Ads campaigns (adwords): only if you connect Google Ads, to create and run video ad campaigns in your own Google Ads account using the videos Jeriathan uploaded, and to read those campaigns' results so you can compare versions. Ad spend is billed by Google to your Google Ads account, not through Jeriathan.

How this data is stored. Data fetched from YouTube is stored only on your Mac, in Jeriathan's project and cache folders. Jeriathan refreshes or deletes cached YouTube data within 30 days. You can delete the cache at any time by removing those folders.

How this data is shared. Jeriathan does not share your YouTube data with Reid Olson Media or with advertisers. If you enable performance-based suggestions, Jeriathan may send a summary of your own videos' performance to the AI services listed below, solely to generate editing suggestions for you. It does not use YouTube data to train or improve AI models, and it does not sell it.

Limited Use. Jeriathan's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Revoking access. You can remove Jeriathan's access to your Google Account at any time from the Google security settings page, or by disconnecting the account inside Jeriathan. Revoking access does not delete videos you already uploaded to your channel.

Facebook, Instagram, and Meta ads

When you connect a Meta account, Jeriathan uses the Facebook Graph API and Marketing API. Depending on what you enable, it may ask to see the Pages you manage, publish videos to the Pages and Instagram accounts you choose, read engagement on those posts, and create, manage, and read the results of ad campaigns in your own ad account. Jeriathan acts only on your instruction. It does not spend money without a campaign you set up, and ad spend is billed by Meta to your ad account, not through Jeriathan.

Your use of Meta platforms is also governed by the Meta Privacy Policy. You can remove Jeriathan's access from Facebook Settings, Business Integrations, or by disconnecting inside Jeriathan.

TikTok

When you connect TikTok, Jeriathan uses the TikTok Content Posting API to post the videos you export to your account, with the caption, privacy level, and interaction settings you choose. It does not post without your instruction. Your use of TikTok is also governed by the TikTok Privacy Policy. You can remove Jeriathan's access in the TikTok app under Settings and privacy, Security and permissions, Manage app permissions, or by disconnecting inside Jeriathan.

AI services Jeriathan uses

Jeriathan sends parts of your project to AI service providers to do its editing work. These providers process the data to return a result and, under their API terms, do not use it to train their models. What they receive: transcripts, script text, still frames and short excerpts of your clips, editing metadata, and, if you enable it, summaries of your videos' performance. They do not receive your sign-in tokens.

Speech transcription can also run entirely on your Mac. The list of providers may change; when it does, we update this page.

What we never do

  • We do not sell or rent your data.
  • We do not show you ads or share your data with advertisers.
  • We do not use your footage, transcripts, or platform data to train AI models.
  • We do not post, upload, or spend on your behalf without an action you took in the app.

Keeping and deleting your data

Because Jeriathan stores everything on your Mac, you are in control of it:

  • Projects and caches: delete the project folder and Jeriathan's cache folders next to it.
  • Connected accounts: disconnect inside Jeriathan, which removes the token from your Keychain, and revoke access on the platform's permissions page linked above.
  • Platform data: data Jeriathan fetched from a platform is deleted when you delete the cache, and is refreshed or deleted within 30 days regardless.

If you have emailed us for support, we keep that correspondence only as long as needed to help you. To ask us to delete anything we hold, email [email protected] and we will confirm when it is done.

Security

Tokens are stored in the macOS Keychain. All connections to platforms and AI services use HTTPS. Processing happens on your own computer. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, so keep your Mac and its login protected.

Children

Jeriathan is a professional tool intended for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Where data is processed

Reid Olson Media is based in the United States. The AI service providers and platforms above may process data in the United States or other countries where they operate.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. Because Jeriathan keeps your data on your own computer, most of these you can exercise directly. For anything we hold, email us and we will respond promptly. EU, UK, and EEA residents may also complain to their local data protection authority. California residents have their rights under the CCPA and CPRA; we do not sell or share personal information.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we will post the new version here with a new "last updated" date. Material changes will be announced inside the app before they take effect.
