Data Deletion
Last updated: October 13, 2026
How to delete everything Jeriathan holds, and how to make us delete anything we hold. This page is part of our Privacy Policy.
Jeriathan is a desktop video editor made by Jeriathan Inc. It runs on your own Mac and keeps your footage, your projects, and your edits there. Your Jeriathan account lives on our server, but your work does not: there is no Jeriathan database holding your footage, projects, or edits.
Our promises about deletion
- It is free, and you do not need an account, a subscription, or a phone call to ask.
- We will not treat you differently for asking. No reduced service, no different price, no penalty — ever.
- We will confirm in writing what was deleted, and when.
- We will not keep a copy. Not for analytics, not for training, not "in case you come back."
- We ask only what we must to be sure the request is yours, we use it for nothing else, and we delete it once the request is done.
- You can act without us. Every platform below lets you cut Jeriathan off yourself, immediately, whatever we do.
What exists, and where it lives
- Your footage, projects, transcripts, and caches — on your Mac, in the folders you chose. They are never uploaded to us.
- Access tokens for accounts you connected — in your macOS Keychain, on your Mac. A token is what lets Jeriathan act on the account you connected. We never receive a copy, except for X, which is linked through your Jeriathan account and kept on our server, encrypted.
- Data Jeriathan fetched from a platform — your own account's username and id, and the views and reach of your own posts. Cached on your Mac so the editor can show them to you.
- Email you send us — in our mailbox, only while we need it to help you.
- Reports you sent with Shift+E in the app — on a computer we run and in our mailbox (our server holds a report only until it reaches us): your words, your account, and the Jeriathan and macOS versions, and, only if you said yes, a picture of the Jeriathan window and your timeline's details.
- Notes you wrote to teach Jeriathan, and the list built from them — on your Mac only. Your notes are plain text in your project folder (stuff/es_feedback.json): delete that file to delete them. The list is a sealed (encrypted) file under your account; the key that opens it is kept on our server. Help ▸ What Jeriathan Learned ▸ Forget everything deletes the list from your Mac and deletes that key on our server, so no copy of the list can be opened again. Export my notes… in the same window gives you your words as a plain text file first, if you want them. If you turned on Share My Notes with Reid, the notes you shared are kept like reports and deleted on request, with the same email.
- If you applied for the beta — your application (name, email, channel links, answers, and the IP address it came from) on a computer we run and in our mailbox, and, only if you ticked the marketing box, your email address on our Jeriathan mailing list.
- Your Jeriathan account — on our server: your email address and Google account ID, the Macs you linked, your credit history with Stripe payment IDs, your AI key (encrypted), the key that seals your list of preferences (encrypted), and, if you linked X, your X user ID, username, and tokens (encrypted). Signing in sets a cookie that keeps you signed in.
- Your stats, only if you turned on Share my stats — on our server, with your account: daily counts of videos exported, posts, editing-button runs, Ask Jeri messages, and minutes spent editing, plus a record of each time you said yes or no.
- On our servers: nothing else about you. This website sets no tracking cookies.
Delete it yourself
Any one of these works on its own. Doing all three removes everything on your Mac and ends every platform's access. To delete your stats, turn off Share my stats in the app (Help ▸ Share My Stats) or on your account page: that deletes them at once. To delete your Jeriathan account, ask us (below).
- Cut off the app's access on the platform. This is the fastest route and
it takes effect immediately:
- Instagram: Apps and websites → remove Jeriathan.
- Facebook / Meta: Business integrations → remove Jeriathan.
- Google / YouTube: Third-party access → remove Jeriathan.
- TikTok: Settings → Security and permissions → Manage app permissions.
- X: Disconnect X on your Jeriathan account page, which deletes the tokens from our server and revokes them at X, or in X: Settings and privacy → Security and account access → Apps and sessions → remove Jeriathan.
- LinkedIn: Settings → Data privacy → Permitted services → remove Jeriathan.
- Delete the token stored on your Mac. In Jeriathan, open
Help ▸ Connect Accounts… to see which accounts are connected. Then open the
Keychain Access app, search for the account's item, and delete it:
ig-graph-tokenandig_poster_user_token(Instagram),yt-analytics-token(YouTube),tiktok-token(TikTok),linkedin-token(LinkedIn). Once you have removed Jeriathan on the platform (step above), a token left behind no longer works. A Disconnect button inside Jeriathan is coming. If you would rather not do this, ask us and we will walk you through it. - Delete your projects and caches. Drag the project folder, and the cache folders next to it, to the Trash, then empty the Trash. Removing the Jeriathan app does not remove your projects, and removing your projects does not remove the stored tokens — that is why both steps are listed.
Ask us to delete it
Email [email protected] with “Data deletion” in the subject, and tell us which account (including your Jeriathan account), correspondence, report, or beta application you mean. You do not need to explain why.
- We acknowledge your request within 7 days.
- We complete it within 30 days, and always within the time your law allows us — 45 days in California, one month in the UK and EU. If a law entitles you to an extension being used, we will tell you before we use it.
- We write back to confirm what was deleted. If some part cannot be deleted, we tell you which part, why, and what law requires us to keep it.
- An authorised agent may make the request for you; we will ask for proof that you authorised them, and nothing more.
There is one thing we cannot do for you: we cannot reach into your Mac. Files and tokens on your own computer are deleted by the steps above, and we will help you do it.
What is deleted, and when
- Tokens: gone from the Keychain the moment you delete them; the grant itself ends the moment you remove Jeriathan on the platform.
- Platform data Jeriathan cached: deleted with the cache folder, and refreshed or dropped within 30 days in any case.
- Email correspondence: deleted from our mailbox on request. Routine mail backups roll off within 30 days, so a deleted message is gone from backups within 30 days too.
- Your stats: deleted the moment you turn off Share my stats, and with your account.
- Your Jeriathan account: deleted on request, with its linked Macs, its AI key, its stats, and its X connection. We keep the record of payments and credits for as long as tax and accounting law requires, and tell you so when we confirm.
- Beta applications and the mailing list: deleted on request, from where the application is stored, from our mailbox, and from the list. Unsubscribing from any marketing email stops it immediately, and routine backups roll off within 30 days.
- Anything a platform holds: only that platform can delete it. Use its own data-deletion tools — Instagram and Facebook under Settings → Your information and permissions, Google under Third-party access.
Instagram, Facebook, and Meta data
For accounts connected through Instagram, Jeriathan holds exactly two things: the access token in your Keychain, and a local cache of your own account's username and id, its follower count and views over the last 30 days, plus the views and reach of posts you published with it. It is used to label the connection, to post what you tell it to post, and to show you how your own account and posts did. It is never sold, never shared with anyone else, and never used to build a profile of you or of anyone else. Removing Jeriathan in Apps and websites ends our access to all of it; once the token is removed or stops working, Jeriathan deletes its cached account numbers the next time it checks, and deleting the cache folder removes the copy on your Mac. You can also email us and we will confirm that nothing remains on our side — there is no Meta-derived data on our servers to begin with.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to its use, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because Jeriathan keeps most of your data on your own computer, you can exercise most of these directly, and the steps above are how. For anything we hold, email us and we will respond within the times promised above.
EU, UK, and EEA residents may also complain to their local data protection authority, and we will not ask you to go through us first. California residents have their rights under the CCPA and CPRA, including the right to know, to delete, to correct, and not to be discriminated against for exercising them; we do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. Jeriathan is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly hold a child's data — if you believe we do, email us and we will delete it without asking for anything further.
